Proposition 1000 in Washington Is the “Right to Die”. Is a Claim by the Opposition True? On?

Question by Dave: Proposition 1000 in Washington is the “Right to Die”. Is A claim by the opposition true?on?
It states that a chemotherapy drug was denied by an insurance provider in Oregon State (which has this proposition) and was told they would not cover the costs of the drug, but would cover the cost of the drug to the patient if they chose to “end their life”.

Is this a scare tactic for those that don’t want this to pass, or is it a true story?

I cant find it, to say if it is true or not. I couldnt find it on snopes and google wasnt giving me anything good either.

BUT, is it any different than other insurance companies who will not cover life saving treatment but will cover palliative care?

it does not make sense so I would say it is not true…..chemo is considered to be treatment for the disease so given that it may get rid of their cancer why would someone go through that just to end their life. Hospice deals with patients who choose not to undergo treatments, they administer comfort measures only like pain meds, those are the people that have chosen to die.

Like I said, that scenario does not make sense
