Drugs really aren’t the way to go, my dear. If you want to attack your weight with chemistry on your side, then do so by cutting your carbs, get yourself into ketosis (where your body is using its fat for fuel, in absence of carbs) and watch your body change. Then you can slowly re introduce different kinds of carbs from whole grains, veg, fruit, and beans, and maintain the weight.

Carb diets are controversial and not for everyone, talk to a doc first and allow yourself to be monitored, and be aware that this is not a plan for someone who can’t stay on the wagon…if you are going to quit carbs you have to quit them at least for a while. The good news is that a LOT of foods are allowed and very good. You can make a mousse with heavy cream, baking cocoa, and splenda…quite decadent! After a while, you can have a carby treat like a baked potato and treat it as a sinful dessert…a small portion, once in a while. But the low carb eating plan is a new lifestyle.

Appetite suppressants are horrible for you and also addictive, it is SPEED. You don’t want to trade in food and body issues for drug addiction, do you?

The age old answers you don’t want to hear are really the only way to lose weight: exercise, less food more often.

Eat lots of hearty vegetables to keep yourself full, and drink WATER! Strive for at least a gallon of water a day, no kidding, as much as possible, fresh plain water, but if you must add flavor like tea or lemon to get it down, do so…drinking water will keep your system healthy and keep you full. It is such a drag, I know!
